The details above give only a brief introduction to myself. I grew up in the town of Lowestoft (Suffolk) where I spent my entire childhood. Throughout school I had always achieved high grades and I knew from a very young age that I was going to do A Levels and then go on to do a university degree. This is exactly what I did and after my GCSEs I began studying for my chosen A Level subjects: Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics. After completing my A Levels I did as I had always intended and went to university, attending University College at the University of Durham in early October 2002; here I studied Computer Science. University College is the original college of the university and is set in the ancient building of Durham Castle. This was a three year course from which I learned a great deal not only about Computer Science, but about many aspects of life in general, outside of lectures. In the first year I lived in halls of residence where all meals were supplied, but in the second year I lived out and had to be totally self-sufficient. In my final year I moved back into halls, as is normal in Durham, and managed to get a room in the castle. In the final two weeks of my degree (after exams but before graduation) I met my current girlfriend, Claire. At that time Claire was a first year, also in University College. We have been seeing each other for over a year now and I've treasured every moment of it. She still attends the university and has less than a year left there; she is studying Cell Biology. After some quite in-depth job searching I eventually became employed as a software developer for a proprietary financial derivatives trading company, Tyler Capital Ltd. I have been there since early January 2006 and have learnt a massive amount about not only software development but also trading and the financial markets in general. I am very much enjoying my current career and have no plan to move on yet. As this position is based in London, I moved to the city around the same time and am thoroughly enjoying the London lifestyle.
